Bayern Munich 2-1 Manchester City Review and Highlights

Bayern came from behind to beat Manchester City in the Audi Cup 2013 finals
Bayern Munich
The match held in Allianz Arena, home of Bayern Munich saw the club in deficit as the new man Alvaro Negredo scored for Man City after blistering past Munich’s defense to fire his shot in the far post. However, the lead lasted only for five minutes when Thomas Muller converted the penalty given for Pablo Zabaleta’s handball. In the 72nd minute, Mario Mandzukic scored a strong header on Muller’s cross to give the German side the lead.
Both teams were off to a slow start but Bayern should have taken the lead when Javi Martinez failed to capitalize in Arjen Robben’s far post cross in the 29th minute. Following Bayern’s attack, another new signing Stevan Jovetic shot just wide of the post from his right foot.
Negredo had two good chances to score in late first half but wasn’t able to head home in Samir Nasri and James Milner’s crosses. He then had his header saved right after second half started but scored a gaol anyway in the first hour mark of the game.
The English side came close to equalizing late in the second half when Edin Dzeko’s shot was saved by Manuel Neuer which resulted in Bayern’s victory.
Earlier the finals match, AC Milan defeated by Man City and Sao Paulo defeated by Bayern played off for the third-place where AC Milan beat the Brazilian side 1-0 thanks to the early second-half goal from Kingsley Boateng.
By winning the first trophy of the season, Pep Guardiola, probably with his strongest team was able to bounce back from the loss in German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund.
